Teenager killed as car hits tree

A teenager has died after the car she was in hit a tree in south Devon.

The 17-year-old was a passenger in a Honda Civic, which crashed on the A383 near the Bickington junction on Wednesday night.

Firefighters cut her free and she was flown to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by helicopter, but died later.

An 18-year-old man has been questioned and released on police bail. He and another 17-year-old girl in the car were not badly injured.
