Police car crash victim is named

A 76-year-old man who died after his car collided with an unmarked police vehicle has been named.

Albert Rogers, from Chulmleigh, died in the crash on the B3137 at Gidley Cross near South Molton on Monday.

The driver of the unmarked police vehicle, which officers said was not responding to an incident, suffered minor injuries.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been informed. An investigation is under way.

The constabulary extended its condolences to the family and friends of Mr Rogers.

The IPCC referred the inquiry back to Devon and Cornwall Police.
