Robbery suspect is caught on CCTV

CCTV courtesy of D & C police Police have released a picture of the suspect they want to question in connection with an attempted robbery at a Devon bank.

Part of Exeter city centre was cordoned off by officers when a man tried to get into the back of the Lloyds TSB building on 7 Friday September.

No-one was injured but staff challenged a man and a member of the public was threatened with a knife.

Police cordoned off the area because of a bag containing a suspicious device.

Explosive experts were called in to examine what was in the bag which was found at the scene.

The offender is described as about 20 years old, 5ft 10in tall, of slender build, with darkish brown hair.

He was wearing dark blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a dark coat.

Police in Exeter say although the CCTV image is not the best quality they hope someone will recognise the suspect running from the scene.
