Man airlifted after car accident

A man in his 70s has been seriously injured in a crash on the A35 in Devon.

The man's Land Rover ended up in a ditch next to the A35 Axminster bypass after being involved in a collision with a Toyota Landcruiser.

He was airlifted in the afternoon to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.

Part of the A35 eastbound was closed for several hours while accident investigators examined the scene and traffic was diverted through Axminster.
