Man's body found after house fire

The body of a man has been found in a wooden house in Devon following a fire.

Emergency crews were called to the house in Spreaycombe near Woolacombe on Saturday afternoon.

The body of a 52-year-old local man was recovered from inside the property by firefighters and a post-mortem examination was later carried out.

An inquiry into the cause of the fire has been launched. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a coroner's report is being prepared.

The fire was contained to one room in the house and the rest of the building was damaged by smoke and heat.
