Conservatives gain at West Devon

The Conservatives have gained two seats on West Devon District Council while the Liberal Democrats have lost four.

The Tories have won 14 seats on the council. Independents have 10, while the Lib Dems have seven.

Nick Morgan, an Independent candidate for the North Tawton district, was elected as his seat was unopposed.

The whole council was being elected. The Conservatives have built on the success of their 2005 parliamentary seat, which they won from the Lib Dems.
