Gorse fire destroys common land
A fire on Woodbury Common in Devon has destroyed about five acres of land.
Eight crews from across Devon were called to assist with the fire at Blackhill Quarry on the common on Saturday night.
A number of trees and about five acres of steep gorse land were caught in the fire. The common is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.
A spokesman for Devon Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was not believed to be suspicious.
