Cliff attraction is back on track

Babbacombe railway coach put back on track A Devon railway attraction has been restored to its former glory ready for its 80th anniversary celebrations.

The Babbacombe Cliff Railway in Torquay has been carrying holidaymakers down to Oddicombe Beach since 1926.

In recent months it has undergone repairs after several technical problems. During these, coaches have been restored to their 1920s colours.

Birthday celebrations will place this weekend and the railway itself should open for the summer season in May.

The railway carries more than 250,000 passengers a year.
