Woman killed in horse riding fall

A rider has died after being thrown from her horse in Derbyshire.

The woman, whose details have not been released, was riding at Hartshorne, near Swadlincote, on Saturday morning she fell off the horse.

She was taken to hospital in Stoke-on-Trent but she later died from her injuries with her family at her bedside, police said.

Officers said they were keen to talk to anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 1115 GMT.
