Man is injured in street stabbing

A 25-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed in a Derbyshire town.

The man was attacked in Stanley Street, Long Eaton, at about 1935 BST on Thursday.

The man was taken to hospital and had surgery for what police said were "serious injuries". He is now in a stable condition.

Police have released no further details about the incident and have appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
