Power cut blacks out 2,500 homes

Power has been restored to nearly 2,500 homes in part of Derbyshire after problems with the network.

The supply failed just before 0700 BST on Saturday in Heanor, Loscoe, Langley Mill and Aldercarr.

Central Networks said it quickly put engineers into the area and managed to have almost all the houses reconnected by 0900 BST.

A spokesman said they were now checking the network to make sure the supply was completely reliable.
