A father says he is angry after being banned from taking photographs of his children skating on an ice rink.
Adrian Presbury, 43, of Oakwood, Derby, said staff told him it contravened the Child Protection Act and police would be called if he continued.
He was out with his son Thomas, 15, and daughter Lauren, five, at the city's new festive attraction in Market Place.
He was invited to pay £2 for photos taken by a professional photographer but said the ban had ruined his outing.
"When it's taking pictures of children wrapped up in balaclavas, coats and scarves it's political correctness gone mad"
The rink's managers defended the action, saying Mr Presbury was breaching their health and safety policy because he was on the ice when he was taking the pictures.
Director of Derbyshire-based Creative Ice Chris Mullane said: "He was told not to take photographs on the ice. That's very dangerous.
"He was taking photographs on the ice and breaking our rules and regulations. It's our policy because that's what we believe will protect our general public."
But Mr Presbury maintained that this was not the reason he was given at the time
"I have got some sympathy with such a rule around places like swimming baths but when it's taking pictures of children wrapped up in balaclavas, coats and scarves it's political correctness gone mad."
