A new footbridge has ruined the appearance of part of a Derbyshire town, according to campaigners.
The black metal structure alongside Matlock station is part of a major development which includes a new Sainsbury's supermarket.
Some residents claim it blights a picturesque part of the town and have set up a website demanding action.
Derbyshire Dales District Council and Sainsbury's said the scheme went through a lengthy planning process.
Campaigner Christine Wright said: "I can't believe they have built such a big ugly monster of a bridge over the beautiful Victorian station in Matlock.
"You used to approach the station through a lovely cobbled courtyard and now that has just been destroyed."
Isabella Stone, who has organised the protest and website, said: "We want Sainsbury's and the local council to acknowledge they have got it wrong and to remove the bridge and regard the station and stationmaster's house as an asset for the town which needs to be protected."
Sainsbury's, which partly funded the broader redevelopment, said it had listened to the concerns raised by local residents.
A spokesman said the local council is finalising plans for what it describes as "remedial action" to soften the appearance of the bridge.
