Driving test workers deny charges

Staff at a driving test centre in Derby have appeared in court accused of trying to award candidates fake pass certificates.

A number of employees at the centre in Mansfield Road are charged with dishonestly obtaining documents for people attempting the written test.

All denied the charges at Derby Crown Court and were granted bail until the trial in March.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in 2005.

Forgery charge

Thomas, 67, and Stephen O'Reilley, 27, of Merridale Road, Littleover; Winifred Miller, 69, of Bath Road, Littleover and Barbara Yeomans, 60, of Ingle Close, Spondon, all denied charges of forgery and attempting to obtain property by deception.

Jennifer Joyce, 62, of Hindscarth Crescent, Mickleover, denied attempting to obtain property by deception.

Ellen Maloney, 27, of Cottingley Springs, Gelderd Road, Leeds, has pleaded not guilty to one charge of forgery.

And Margaret Honeyman, 24, also of Cottingley Springs, Gelderd Road, Leeds, denied one count of attempting to obtain property by deception.
