A counter has been installed at the Crown Inn hotel and pub on Main Street in Higham, which has been without the facility for more than a year.
The move has been backed by county councillor Geoff Carlile, who has been spearheading a campaign to save and re-open post offices across the county.
The part-time post office will open all day on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Councillor Carlile said: "This is very good news for residents, particularly the elderly and those without access to transport, who once again will have access to a local post office service.
"We have been working with the Post Office and local residents to support the introduction of services alongside existing businesses and this is a perfect example of what can be achieved by working in partnership."
Landlady Rita Williams added: "Having run a pub for four years we feel very much a part of the community and felt it was right that we should provide this vital service to residents."
