Warning over asbestos fire debris
Officials have confirmed debris contained asbestos from a fire at a large warehouse near Burton has been found in part of South Derbyshire.
People have been warned not to touch the fragments, which were dispersed from the blaze at the B&Q warehouse in Branston, Burton-on-Trent, on Tuesday.
Environmental health officers have found the low-grade asbestos in Newhall and Bretby on the Hill.
Anyone who finds the material should contact the district council.
A council spokesperson, said: "Members of the public should not pick up any of the debris, which could be black or white, and make sure children know not to touch the material."
East Staffordshire Borough Council has confirmed debris has also been found in the Brizlincote Valley and Stapenhill areas.
