Rock festival alcohol crackdown

Police are to patrol a rock festival being staged in Cumbria to crack down on under-age drinkers.

Officers will be at the Lakes Rock event in Whitehaven armed with dip testing kits which can detect traces of alcohol in drinks.

They will also be offering advice to the music fans on the dangers of binge drinking and drink-driving.

Up to nine local acts are expected to perform at the festival being staged at Lakes College.
