Sewers upgrade to reduce flooding

A road in Carlisle will remain closed for several weeks while sewers are replaced in an attempt to reduce the risk of flooding.

The B5307 Main Street in Moorhouse will be shut both ways until Easter to allow engineers access to the site.

Cumbria County Council apologised to motorists for any disruption but said the work was "essential".

It also said roads used as diversionary routes would be regularly gritted during bad weather.
