Free parking for town's shoppers

Free parking has been made available to visitors to a Cumbrian town centre.

The All Saints car park in Cockermouth has been designated a disc parking zone, allowing shoppers to leave their cars for an hour without having to pay.

The move, by Allerdale Borough Council, is in response to concern raised by businesses over the loss of parking at Bitterbeck during building work.

The discs are available from council offices or tourist information centres around the borough.
