E-fit released after sex assault

E-fit of sex attack suspect

Police investigating a sex assault on a woman in Carlisle have released an e-fit of one of her attackers.

The 21-year-old was attacked by two men as she walked alone along a footpath leading from Stanwix Bank to Cavendish Terrace in the early hours of Sunday.

Images of one of the men, described as quite distinctive with a thin, pale face, are being distributed around the city on posters and leaflets.

There is as yet no e-fit of the other man. Both are aged between 13 and 25.

Detective Superintendent Cath Thundercloud said after the image was released: "We are appealing for anyone who recognises this male to contact us.

"He is quite distinctive, with a thin face and pale complexion. Did you see him with another male in the Stanwix Bank or Hardwicke Circus area in the early hours of Sunday morning?

"The attackers could have been anywhere earlier in the evening, so think about whether you have seen someone similar hanging around in your own neighbourhood at any time over the weekend?

"Somebody knows who the offenders are, and we would urge anyone with any suspicions about someone they know, a neighbour, friend or family member, to talk to us.
