Mobile unit offers health advice

A mobile health unit will be offering free blood pressure checks and health advice to residents of a Cumbrian town.

Staff from NHS Cumbria will be holding sessions in Workington in the facility which is on loan from Cumbria Police's occupational therapy team.

As well as blood pressure checks, there will be advice on diet, exercise and sexual health.

The unit will be in Salterbeck and Westfield on 3 December, and Westfield and Moorclose on 10 December.

Jane Muller, associate director of public health for North Cumbria, said: "The mobile unit's visit to Workington is a great opportunity for people to find out more about what they can do to improve their health."
