Lake District bike trail to open
The longest purpose-built mountain bike trail in the Lake District is to be formally unveiled.
Lord Clark of Windermere will be the guest of honour at the opening of the Altura Trail at Whinlatter Forest.
The 19km (11.8 miles) route near Keswick, is owned by the Forestry Commission and opens on Monday.
The trail is a red grade which means it is challenging and only for experienced cyclists. The route takes in views of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite.
