Traders and shoppers in a Cumbrian town have been reassured that demolition work will not lead to a loss of parking spaces in the run up to Christmas.
Cockermouth's former Market Place depot is being replaced by new housing and part of the Bitter Beck car park will be cordoned off temporarily.
There was concern that this might result in a shortages of spaces during the busiest time of the year.
However, shoppers and traders have been told it will be held off until January.
The news follows an agreement between Allerdale Borough Council and Impact Housing, which takes possession of the site on Monday.
