Fish factory evacuated in blaze

Workers had to be evacuated from a fish factory in Maryport in Cumbria after fire broke out in an oven.

Firefighters were called to Brookside Products, on the Glasson Industrial Estate on Tuesday after the blaze broke out in a kiln used for smoking fish.

Mike Smith of Cumbria Fire and Rescue service said it took two crews two hours to put the fire out.

He said everyone got out safely and the flames were contained in the oven area of the building.
