Hospital attacker given pub ban

A man has been banned from pubs and bars in a Cumbrian town after he assaulted hospital staff.

Anthony Jefferson, 57, from Cockermouth, admitted assaulting three members of staff at Whitehaven's West Cumberland Hospital in August.

He was given a 12-month community order and a two month electronically-tagged curfew by West Allerdale magistrates.

The Cockermouth Pub Watch Scheme has also banned him from licensed premises in the area for the next two years.
