New £110,000 play areas created

Youngsters in a Cumbrian town are to benefit from a £110,000 investment to create two playgrounds.

South Lakeland District Council said it planned to create the multi-use games areas at Lund Terrace and at Croftlands in Ulverston.

The areas will be suitable for children who want to play team sports such as football, cricket, and netball.

Similar play areas were recently created in Kendal and police said they had helped reduce youth disorder.
