Tribute to motorbike crash victim

The family of a 30-year-old motorbiker killed in a crash on the A69 in Cumbria have paid tribute to him.

Alan Hogg's Honda was involved in a collision with an Isuzu Trooper close to Byegill Farm, at Corby Hill, near Carlisle on Friday afternoon.

His family said he was passionate about motorbikes, and was a kind man and a "privilege to know."

Mr Hogg, of Corby Hill, who worked for a mineral water firm, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A former pupil at William Howard School in Brampton, Mr Hogg was known to his friends as Boris.

Dependable man

His brother Bill Hogg said: "Alan was the youngest of three brothers by 15 years.

"He was passionate about his cars and motorcycles and enjoyed his time spent at car auctions and shows.

"Alan was a kind, helpful, reliable and dependable young man and a privilege to know.

"He will be greatly missed by his family, girlfriend Sue and his many friends and colleagues."
