Four arrested over drug offences

Four people were arrested in connection with drug offences after police spotted two "suspicious" vehicles parked in a country land in Cumbria.

A dog handler was called in after the occupants were unable to explain why they were at the scene near Stainton, Penrith, early on Friday.

A bag of what was believed to be drugs was then located nearby.

Three men and a woman are being questioned on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Two of the men, aged 43 and 36, are from Whitehaven, and a 53-year-old man and the woman, 34, are from Liverpool.
