Major survey to tackle disorder

A major two-day survey is being carried out in an area of Carlisle to find out residents' crime concerns.

Teams from Streetsafe Cumbria plan to visit 200 homes in Richmond on Thursday and Friday asking locals about youth disorder and other issues.

These will include concerns about dog fouling, fly tipping, domestic abuse and hate crime.

The teams will also be removing graffiti, installing smoke alarms and towing away abandoned vehicles.

The operation is a joint initiative between police, the fire service, the city council, Carlisle Housing Association and Victim Support.
