Sites for Lakes businesses needed

Landowners in the Lake District are being asked whether they have suitable sites for new business parks.

Planners said they want to see three sites developed over the next 15 years.

The area's economy is dominated by tourism and National Park Authority officials said a wider range of businesses and jobs are needed.

Recent developments include the Waterfront business park in Barrow. Planners would consider little-used fields and redundant farm buildings.

A survey is being sent to landowners to see whether they have suitable sites to offer.
