Double call out for rescue team

A Lake District rescue team responding to an emergency had to deal with a second incident en route.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out when an 84-year-old woman fell on a path between Grange and Rosthwaite, sustaining head injuries on Monday.

While on its way, two members of the team had to stop off at Shepherds Crag in Borrowdale to offer first aid to a fallen climber.

Both casualties were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The Great North Air Ambulance was also been called to the first incident, but was unable to land close by due to tree cover.
