The family of a man killed when his car left the road and hit a tree in Cumbria have paid tribute to the "devoted and loving dad".
William Springthorpe, from Newton Street in Ulverston, was driving a Ford Focus on the A595 near Askam-in-Furness when the crash happened.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the 40-year-old, but he died at the scene on Monday morning.
Mr Springthorpe was engaged to be married and had one son, Kiefer.
His family said: "Neil Springthorpe, affectionately known as 'Springy' to his mates, was the dearly-loved fiance of Pam and the devoted and loving dad of Kiefer.
"He was also the loving son of Barbara and Bill, and brother of Sarah and John.
"Together with his son, he was an avid fan of Manchester United and enjoyed watching all sports, especially motor sports."
Cumbria Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which killed Mr Springthorpe.
Officers also want to speak to any drivers who were travelling along the A595 from Dalton towards Askam-in-Furness between 0500 GMT and 0600 GMT, even if they did not see the collision.
