New routes proposed in Lakes park
New public routes for walkers and horse riders are being proposed in a national park in Cumbria.
The Lake District National Park Authority is planning two bridleways and a footpath in the Carhullan and Rough Hill area, near Bampton Common.
A spokesman for the authority said there was evidence that the routes had been used publicly for many years.
He added a six-week period for any objections to be placed would begin at the end of next month.
Objections would be considered by the secretary of state for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
