Police officers who investigated the murder of a baby girl found encased in a concrete block are to receive awards.
The remains of the baby, named Lara by police, were found in a garage in Barepot near Workington in 2002.
Although Lara's killer was never found, the three-year investigation evidence led to a couple, now dead, who police believed could be her parents.
Officers involved will be commended at The Chief Constable's Awards Ceremony in Penrith on Thursday.
Operation Lara generated a great deal of interest and support from the local community, and Lara was given a formal funeral in September 2005.
She was aged between four and six months when she was killed and lay undiscovered for around 15 years.
Police believe she had been beaten and buried alive.
The inquiry was one of the most complex cases undertaken by Cumbria Police.
