Revamped children's centre opens
A newly refurbished centre for families in Cumbria is being officially opened on Friday.
It has taken a year to improve the children's centre at Millom and extend facilities at the Stepping Stones nursery and Millom Infant School.
Over the last two years, 16 such centres have been developed in Cumbria and 12 more are being planned.
They offer advice on education, child care and health care. Local MP Jamie Reed will cut the opening ribbon.
Anna Batty of the charity NCH is the centre's coordinator. She said: "We are celebrating the completion of that work by inviting people to come along and see the centre for themselves.
"We are very proud of how far we have come in this last year and want to celebrate this achievement with local families."
