M-way tailback as lorry overturns

M6 tailback Drivers faced delays after a lorry overturned on a motorway.

Police believe the lorry may have blown over in high winds on the M6 northbound just south of junction 44 at Houghton, in Cumbria, early on Thursday.

The driver of the lorry from Lancashire, which was transporting frozen food, was unhurt.

Tailbacks formed after two lanes on the motorway's northbound carriageway and a lane of the southbound carriageway were closed for a time.
