Vandals 'threaten water supply'

Vandals are "endangering the security of water supplies" in parts of Coventry, Severn Trent Water warned.

During the recent hot spell, gallons of water was wasted in the Bell Green area of the city when fire hydrants were purposefully damaged, the firm said.

Andrew Marsh, from Severn Trent Water, said it threatened water supplies in the neighbourhood.

He appealed to people in affected areas to get the message across and help control the anti-social behaviour.
