Lottery cash for volunteer scheme

A north Warwickshire project which aims to get people volunteering has been given £180,000 of lottery funding.

The Volunteer Centre - Nuneaton and Bedworth will use the grant for its Connecting Communities project.

The scheme aims to encourage people with difficulties such as disability, unemployment and low skill levels to take up volunteering.

A spokesman for the Big Lottery Fund said the money was dedicated to helping those most in need.
