Calendar for firefighters on sale

A calendar has gone on sale to mark the anniversary of the deaths of four firefighters in Warwickshire.

Ashley Stephens, 20, John Averis, 27, Darren Yates-Badley, 24, and Ian Reid, 44, died tackling a warehouse fire in Atherstone-on-Stour last November.

The calendar features fellow firefighters and was launched in Stratford-on-Avon where Mr Reid and Mr Averis were based.

It is available from fire stations and shops in the area.

The calendar costs £5 and money raised will go to the Firefighters Charity and to the Warwickshire Firefighters Families Fund.

Watch manager Rose Matthews said the crews put a lot of work into putting the calendar together.

"The images were the hardest part as we wanted them to reflect the humour of the crews and a lot of our firefighters actually feature in the calendar," she said.

Memorial services were held for the firefighters last weekend with events taking place at All Saints Church, in Leamington Spa, and Stratford-on-Avon fire station where a remembrance garden was dedicated to the men.
