Three charged over cigarette haul

Three men from Coventry have been charged over an alleged plot to smuggle 4,500,000 cigarettes into the UK.

The cigarettes were allegedly found hidden in cable reels and wooden pallets at Coventry Business Park, in Tile Hill, HM Customs said.

Two British nationals, aged 43 and 25, and a Polish national, 26, have been charged with tax evasion.

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the seized cigarettes and released on bail.
