Man punched to floor and robbed

A man was punched, threatened with a knife and robbed in a street.

The 23-year-old was walking in Woodside in Telford, Shropshire when a car containing two men pulled up.

One man called out the victim's name before the two occupants jumped out and demanded the man pay them back the money he owed them, police said.

He then punched the man in the face and pulled out a small knife while he lay on the ground. The victim gave him his wallet, containing £140.

The pair then got back into their car and left the scene.

A West Mercia Police spokesman urged anyone who witnessed the robbery on Tuesday evening or who suspects they know the individuals responsible for it to contact the force.
