Concerns have been raised in north Warwickshire over plans for a permanent site for more than 20 gypsy caravans.
A public meeting on Friday discussed two planning applications aimed at changing the use of a caravan park at Wrens Nest, Heanley Lane, Hurley.
The applicants want to create homes for gypsy families, but local residents are concerned over development of the greenbelt land.
The applications are to be considered by the borough council in the autumn.
One of the applications asks to change the use of the camping and caravan site so it can be used as a residential site for three gypsy families, living in seven caravans.
'Narrow lane'
The other application appeals for a change of use, so that the site can be used for eight mobile homes for gypsy families and eight touring caravans for nomadic use.
Dan Byles, who is the Conservative parliamentary candidate for the area, said more than 150 people attended the meeting at Hurley Village Hall.
He said: "It's clear that local people are extremely concerned about the impact this application would have on the village.
"The potential increase in the volume of traffic on a fairly narrow lane alone should make the planning committee think very carefully.
"But in my opinion the principal concern is that of development on the greenbelt."
