Metal drain covers stolen in town

Eight drain covers have been stolen in a Warwickshire town.

Police were alerted to the thefts in Atherstone on Wednesday but say new ones have been put in place.

There have been more than 90 metal thefts in Warwickshire in the last two months including several road and pavement covers, police said.

They have warned pedestrians and drivers to be wary of missing road and pavement covers and to report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwickshire Police or Crimestoppers.
