An eight-year-old boy had a miraculous escape from a crash when a car rolled on top of him after he was catapulted from the vehicle.

The youngster ended up trapped by the car as he lay in a muddy ditch.

Emergency crews took up to 40 minutes to free him after the crash at 1945 GMT on Saturday in Brick Kiln Lane, Hurley, Warwickshire.

The boy was taken to hospital with hypothermia and cuts to his face. No one else was injured.
