Parents' appeal over missing son

Jack Macleod The parents of a missing 17-year-old Warwickshire boy have appealed for help to find him.

Jack Macleod has not been seen since the early hours of Sunday when he was in Leamington Spa's Pump Room Gardens.

Kevin Fisher, his father, said: "The loss of a son at such an early age is a dreadful tragedy for any parent."

Although no body has been found, a 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released by Warwickshire Police.

Mr Fisher said: "Jack was an adorable well mannered, gentle boy who had an extraordinary presence that could light up a room.

"He could relate to small children and adults and just being in his company felt like an honour, as anybody who knew him would verify."

Jack, who police described as vulnerable, was last seen with friends leaving the Irish Club in Adelaide Road, where he worked. Divers have searched the River Leam for the youth, known by the surnames Fisher and Macleod.

'Blond and beautiful'

Jack's mother, Sheena Macleod, and stepfather Ewan Macleod, said in a statement: "There is not a person I know who ever said anything other than positive things about him.

"It's his shyness, yet his ability to engage with people, his manners, his smile and his inability to offend. Jack is not just about his blond hair and beautiful face."

Det Insp Bob Bradbury, of Warwickshire police, said: "The search for Jack will continue vigorously. We will not stop."

Police have asked for information from people who were in the Adelaide Road, Clemens Street or Brunswick Street area early on Sunday morning.

Some people have approached officers following media appeals, but police know of more people in the area who have failed to make contact.
