Job losses follow factory closure

Dozens of people have lost their jobs following the closure of a factory in mid-Cornwall.

A total of 49 people who worked at the Kemutec factory in Par have been made redundant.

The Cheshire-based firm makes machinery for handling bulk powder for the food and pharmaceutical industries, including mixing vats for Cadbury's.

It has had a presence in Cornwall for at least 25 years. Administrators were called in earlier this week.
