Hundreds of workers made redundant following the collapse of a Cornish lighting manufacturer are to be offered advice on how to find new work.
A total of 260 people lost their jobs at Bodmin-based Fitzgerald Lighting.
An information event was staged on Wednesday for the 240 workers from its headquarters in Bodmin who are affected by the company's closure.
Staff from Jobcentre Plus and other agencies were on hand to offer help and advice.
Potential saviours
The event, organised by North Cornwall District Council, was held at Bodmin Public Rooms.
The firm, which has been trading for about 30 years, has blamed continued losses and the economic downturn in the current climate as the reason for its closure.
However, administrators KPMG revealed that a number of parties had expressed an interest in taking on aspects of the business and said that it would be talking to all potential purchasers with a view to selling whatever it could as a going concern.
Fitzgerald Lighting has distribution depots in Birmingham, Edinburgh, St Helens, West London, Belfast, Dublin and Dubai.
