Motorcyclist dies after A38 crash

A motorcyclist has died after suffering serious injuries in a road crash.

The Harley-Davidson rider was involved in a collision with a car on the A38 in Cornwall between Menhenoitt and Liskeard at about 2200 BST on Sunday.

The man, believed to be aged 41 and from Liskeard, was taken to hospital in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.

A 26-year-old woman from Liskeard was arrested and was later bailed to return to Launceston police station on 5 January 2009.

The westbound carriageway was re-opened on Monday morning after being closed for several hours.
