Injuries unit reopens after leak

A minor injuries unit in Cornwall has reopened after it had to shut because of a burst water pipe.

Twelve patients were moved to other hospitals after the incident at Edward Hain Hospital in St Ives on 1 August.

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust said investigations into the cause found a failure in a joint in the mains water pipe.

It says the closure posed no threat to the hospital's long-term future and it planned to continue improving services.
