Man critical after cliff plunge

A 32-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from a clifftop bar in Newquay.

Police were called on Friday evening by staff at Belushi's Bar, who said a man had fallen onto Towan beach from the rear of the premises.

A search was launched and the man was airlifted by helicopter to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. His condition is critical, but stable.

The man, from Stoke-on-Trent, is thought to have been on a stag night.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
